SC. — "All
they wanted to talk about was
drugs and stuff," veteran
trucker Ted Fungle said following
a brief phone call with a local
non-profit crack-abuse
hotline. "They didn't
seem to have a clue about what I
was talking about."
Mr. Fungle later
confided that he would continue
to seek help. The 52
year-old trucker has not entirely ruled
out suspenders, but is reluctant
to employ them, he says, because
"I don't want people
staring at me."
Fungle believes he inherited his
persistent affliction from his
late father, a non-union
plumber.
